Prediction of the difficulty level in a standardized reading comprehension test: contributions from cognitive psychology and psychometrics

This research seeks to identify possible predictors of the difficulty level of reading comprehension items used in a standardized psychometric test for university admission. Several potential predictors of difficulty were proposed, namely, propositional density, negations, grammatical structure, vocabulary difficulty, presence of enhancement elements (words highlighted typographically), item abstraction level and degree of similarity between correct option and relevant text to resolve the item. Comprensió de la lectura en alumnes d'ensenyament secundari

Aquest treball es planteja per conèixer més de primera mà la comprensió i assimilació de textos escrits, en alumnes de l'actual ensenyament secundari. La mostra emprada va ser de 28 alumnes entre 14 i 20 anys, de 3r d'ESO i COU majoritàriament, de l'Institut d'Ensenyament Secundari «Alameda de Osuna» de Madrid. Els resultats obtinguts en aquest estudi indiquen que, en els lectors de menor edat els processos de lectura són més simples i en alguns casos incomplets, mentre que els lectors de major edat fan una lectura que implica processos cognitius més complexos, adequats i profunds.

Diplomdarba autores pieredze liecina, ka salīdzinoši neliels pētījumu skaits Latvijā veikts saistībā ar skolēnu lasītpratības mērījumiem svešvalodā. No otras puses, līdzīgi pētījumi ik gadu tiek veikti un ir zināmi kā starptautiskie lasītprasmes novērtēšanas pētījumi (PIRLS), kur tiek noteiktas lasīšanas spējas sākumskolas skolēniem. Taču oficiālu datu par kopējo lasītprasmes līmeni pusaudžiem, lasot svešvalodā, ir nepietiekami. Tā kā svešvalodas apguve ir saistīta ar dzimtās valodas izpratni, tiek uzsvērta metakognitīvā pieeja un kā viena no metakognitīvām stratēģijām minēti ir lasīšanas detektīvi.
